Cutter Boley throws at Tuesday's Kentucky football camp, plus other notes

Kentucky football hosted its second camp of the June camp season on Tuesday and KSR was in attendance once again. After checking out a massive group of prospects on Sunday, Tuesday's list of visitors was about half the size, but with plenty of talent still spread across the board.

Let's jump right into the biggest notes from a beautiful day at Kroger Field.

The most important news out of Tuesday's camp was the surprise appearance of prized QB commit Cutter Boley, who went through some light throwing drills alongside the rest of the campers. The four-star signal caller took it relatively easy and didn't participate in every drill, but did show off his strong arm with several deep, pinpoint throws to the campers in attendance.

In between drills, Boley would chop it up with several Kentucky staffers and current players, including the likes of offensive coordinator Liam Coen, head coach Mark Stoops, and sophomore wide receiver Barion Brown, among others. As a quick aside, current ‘Cats such as DL Deone Walker, DB Ty Bryant, QB Kaiya Sheron, and WR Anthony Brown were all spotted at Tuesday's camp. In particular, Boley and Barion Brown made sure to create conversation — establishing some early chemistry ahead of schedule, perhaps?

I joke, but it's clear that Boley is well-liked. He took the time to talk and work with other quarterback campers during his brief visit. Boley will be back soon, too. The four-star prospect is taking his official visit to UK this weekend where he’ll act as a secondary recruiter for the coaching staff. You can trust that he’ll be in the ear of three-star tight end Willie Rodriguez out of Covington Catholic, who recently picked up an offer from UK and is a serious target for the ‘Cats.

Boley also expects to meet Ohio State's three-star running back commit Sam Williams-Dixon at some point during the day, too. Williams-Dixon, who has been committed to the Buckeyes since April, arrived in Lexington for an official visit on Monday.

A trio of North Pickerington (OH) prospects made the trip to Lexington for a camp visit, their second time at Kroger Field after camping this time last year — which is when they all received offers from the Wildcats. Those three are WR Preston Bowman (’25), RB Michael Taylor (’25), and ATH Malachi Taylor (’26). Michael and Malachi are brothers.

All three stand out as potential Power 5 prospects, particularly Bowman, who also holds scholarships from the likes of Ohio, Miami (OH), Toledo, Massachusetts, and a few others. Multiple UK coaches were spotted talking with Bowman individually off to the side. Boley even mentioned how he enjoyed throwing the ball to Bowman the few times they linked up in passing drills. He's considered a three-star recruit by the folks over at 247Sports.

The Taylor brothers only hold the one DI offer from Kentucky, but look the part of college players with impressive frames for underclassmen. They were among the clear standouts from Tuesday's camp.

A couple of ’25 Boyle County prospects to keep an eye on moving forward are WR Montavin Quisenberry and ATH Demauriah Brown. Quisenberry actually camped on Sunday (where he was easily one of the most talented prospects in attendance) and has held an offer from Kentucky since October, but on Tuesday, he came in street clothes where he spent the majority of his time talking with several UK coaches, including associate head coach Vince Marrow.

The staff likes Quisenberry as a smaller wide receiver option (he's listed at 5-foot-9) for the 2025 class and could continue to recruit him as a take for that group. West Virginia and Virginia Tech are also heavily involved in his recruitment. Quisenberry is a high-level athlete and clocked a 4.5-second 40-yard dash on the laser over the weekend. He rushed for over 1,000 yards and caught another 800 for a total of 23 touchdowns as a sophomore for the Rebels.

Demauriah Brown is the other name to watch, as he picked up an offer from West Virginia on Wednesday following an impressive camp showing there. He then camped at Virginia Tech over the weekend before camping at Kentucky on Tuesday. He recently clocked a 4.4-second 40-yard dash on the laser. Boyle County should be loaded once again in the fall after winning its third straight state championship this past season.

An unranked QB prospect out of Highlands Ranch (CO) Mountain Vista, Austyn Modrzewski was one of the more impressive throwers from Tuesday's camp. He's as tall as Boley — the two were going through throwing drills together in front of Kentucky coaches — at 6-foot-5 but will likely need to add some weight in order to establish himself as a high-level recruit.

That being said, Modrzewski has intriguing intangibles and will likely see his stock blossom over the course of the summer. Additionally, he suits up on the same high school team as Mark Stoops’ son. Something to watch for.
