Mayans MC Just Introduced an All
Mayans M.C. star J.D. Pardo gives fans some insight into the potential future of the series' new all-female gang - the Broken Saints.
Mayans M.C. star J.D. Pardo opens up about the introduction of the series' all-female motorcycle gang.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Pardo, who portrays EZ Reyes on Mayans M.C., was asked about the introduction of the Broken Saints, an all-female gang led by Smile star Caitlin Stasey. In particular, they discussed whether there might be room for them to align themselves with the series' eponymous gang in the future. "Absolutely, there's a possibility of an alliance," Pardo responded. "What you find in the opening of this season... there's already an alliance going on [between the Iron War and the cartel], and the Mayans are being left out of it. So in fear of losing their position and losing their power, they're going to try to make their own alliances." Pardo noted that any potential alliance also creates an "opportunity for a bigger fall."

Mayans M.C. premiered in 2018 as a spin-off of FX network's fan-favorite Sons of Anarchy, which ran for 92 episodes over seven seasons from 2008 to 2014. The Mayans were introduced as rivals of the Sons in the original series, while an uneasy alliance was eventually formed between them as the show went on. Sons of Anarchy followed the eponymous motorcycle club's exploits, initially led by Ron Perlman's Clay Morrow, whose demise would see leadership change hands to M.C. vice president Jackson "Jax" Teller, famously portrayed by Charlie Hunnam.
Mayans M.C. picked up just over two years after the original series left off and is set far from Sons of Anarchy's locale in the fictional border town of Santo Padre, California. Since its debut, fans have watched Pardo's EZ Reyes rise from a prospect to the current presidente of the club, while his chapter's relationship with the local chapter of the Sons has deteriorated throughout the past four seasons. In January, it was confirmed that the fifth season of Mayans M.C. would be the show's last ride.

In March, Sons of Anarchy actor Theo Rossi, who portrayed Juan-Carlos "Juice" Ortiz from the show's pilot episode up until its penultimate episode, opened up about the possibility of a reunion project. "There might be something coming up where we're all back together, which is insane. If it happens, it's wild, but if it doesn't, it would be perfect and really cool because we also talk every day." When asked to clarify if he was referencing a long-rumored Sons of Anarchy feature film, Rossi merely stated, "It's totally different. It's really cool."
New episodes of Mayans M.C. premiere every Wednesday on FX.
